Peter Ndlala, born in Rondebosch in 1973, is a versatile South African bassist, soprano saxophonist, composer, arranger, and bandleader. Known for his innovative style, he brings a lead-guitar presence to the bass, blending power and sensitivity in melodic, sing-along solos. He began his musical journey at M.A.P.P., performing with the jazz ensemble and appearing at the 1992 Guinness Jazz Festival. Mentored by jazz legend Winston Mankunku Ngozi, Ndlala developed a sound rooted in Afro music and jazz fusion, rich in improvisation.

Over the years, he has collaborated with renowned South African and international artists, including Winston Mankunku Ngozi, Judith Sephuma, Errol Dyers, George Werner, Rashaan Patterson, and many others. Ndlala currently works as a session musician in Cape Town and performs widely. His latest album, Beira, reflects his distinctive musical vision.
