Lauren Hendricks is a dynamic South African musician from Cape Town, known for her versatility across jazz, pop, soul, and more. With over a decade of experience performing locally and internationally, she has collaborated with artists such as Shannon Mowday (RSA/NOR), Ida Gormson (DEN), Prof Mike Rossi (USA), Susanna Stivali (ITA), and Paulo Costa (BRA). Lauren has performed at major festivals and venues, including the Oslo Jazz Festival, the Arcevia Jazz Fest (Italy), the National Youth Jazz Festival, and the Grandwest Arena.
Beyond performing, Lauren is passionate about music education and creative arts. She has worked with NGOs like Applauze Arts Initiative, Performing Arts Network of Southern Africa, and Western Cape Street Children’s Forum, while also lecturing at schools and performing arts colleges. She runs her creative business, InframeCPT, producing photography and videography content, and has won the Standard Bank Arts Photography Competition for “Sounds and Music.” In 2022, she launched South African Jazz In Frame, combining exhibitions with live performances to amplify artists’ voices. After completing her Master’s in Jazz Studies at the University of Cape Town in 2023, Lauren continues to perform and collaborate with creatives across South Africa.
