Thulile Zama is a versatile vocalist and musician with over two decades of experience. She holds a BA in Music and an Honours in Culture, Communication, and Media from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Best known as the lead singer of the award-winning all-female jazz band Heels Over Head, she has continued to expand her artistic footprint through her long-running project Tribute to Mama Africa, a celebration of Sophiatown and Miriam Makeba’s musical legacy. The show has toured major theatres and festivals across South Africa, Mozambique, and the Netherlands, receiving widespread acclaim.

Beyond performing, Thulile is also a music promoter and concert organiser, working with leading venues such as the Centre for Jazz and Popular Music, Rhumbelow Theatre, and Emakhosini Boutique Hotel. She is one half of the duo N’den with pianist David Smith, with whom she released the album Sisingathiwe in 2023. Together, they continue to share original music and reimagined favourites across digital platforms, cementing Thulile’s place as a dynamic force in the South African music landscape.
