Rorisang Sechele is a talented vocalist, songwriter, recording and performing artist, and founder of African Orchid Productions. Her musical journey began in the Jacaranda Children’s Choir, followed by classical training at Pro Arte Alphen Park, where she completed her studies with distinction. She further pursued Jazz and Popular Music at the Tshwane University of Technology, graduating cum laude with an Advanced Diploma, and continues to expand her academic expertise in Jazz.
Rorisang’s career has been marked by significant milestones, including her selection for the Standard Bank National Youth Jazz Band in 2021 under mentor Dr Nduduzo Makhathini. She has performed alongside Lisette Spinnler, Nthabiseng Motsepe, Zenzi Makeba-Lee, Sun-EL Musician, Simmy, Msaki, and Ami Faku, and is a member of The Anchored Quartet. Her highlights include a sold-out show through the Digital Mobility Fund 5, participation in the Youth Expressions Festival, Red Bull Symphonic 2024 and 2025 as Vocal Musical Director, and recognition through the State Theatre Incubator Programme and Fine Music Radio Fund Competition. Her latest project, In Full Bloom – The Seed (2025), has received critical acclaim in Jazz and Neo-Soul, with a successful national tour, features on the Jazz NXT playlist, and nominations for the 2025 Urban Music Awards, Mzantsi Jazz Awards, and Basadi in Music Awards.
