Mnqobi Amos Ngcobo, aka OB Magiki, is a Durban-based South African artist known for blending hip hop, R&B, Afro Beats, and Amapiano into a fresh, contemporary sound. As a songwriter, rapper, beatmaker, and producer, he has become one of the most versatile voices in South African youth culture.
A true pan-African creative, he has collaborated with artists from Botswana, Cameroon, Zimbabwe, and Uganda. His work has featured on major platforms, including Blood & Water (Netflix, Season 4), and he has collaborated with artists such as Maraza, Beast RSA, Touchline, Rashid Kay, Manny Yack, and Taffy Da No.
OB Magik earned the “Man of the Season” title on Hood vs Hood Season 3 and completed a successful Botswana tour in April 2025, supported by Intercape and Concerts SA. He continues to expand his craft through live band performances and has received nominations at the Durban Creative Awards and SAUMA Awards for Best Producer, Best Hip Hop Artist, and Best Hip Hop Song.
As co-founder of The Magik Xperience, an annual youth-led music event, he is committed to community-focused creative development. Featured on platforms such as the BTTC 10k Challenge and Stimorol’s Flow Lab Bootcamp, OB Magik is shaping the sound of African urban music with authenticity and innovation.
