Nomadic Orchestra is a high-energy brass-driven dance band from Cape Town, known for blending hip hop, afrobeat, ghoema, samba, ska, klezmer and more into one irresistible groove. Formed by music enthusiasts from the South African College of Music (UCT), “The Nomads” bring a bold mix of musicality, humour, and infectious performance energy to every stage.
Their mission is simple: get people moving. With three full-length albums and a long list of festivals, tours, and special events behind them, the band continues to create original music that’s as danceable as it is creatively crafted.
Nomadic Orchestra has performed on major South African stages and toured across Europe and Africa. They’ve shared stages with renowned local and international acts such as Gogol Bordello, Balkan Beat Box, Boom Pam, Freshly Ground, Majozi, Matthew Mole, Beatenberg, and Jeremy Loops, among many others.
