Mthunzi Mvubu, South Africa’s most recorded sideman saxophonist and flautist, has contributed to over 60 albums locally and internationally. His debut album, The 1st Gospel, earned a 2023 SAMA nomination and highlights his distinctive tone and musical versatility, further recognised by the 2023 Mzantsi Jazz Award for Best Male Jazz Artist. Gontse Makhene, a third-generation percussionist, fuses traditional African rhythms with modern techniques, having shaped modern music as a founding member of Kwani Experience, Shabaka and the Ancestors, and co-founder of Peanut Butter and Jam Sessions. Dalisu Ndlazi, a rising bassist and tuba player from Umlazi, KZN, brings strong, fresh grooves to every performance and has toured Europe with Nduduzo Makhathini, proving his musicianship is beyond his years.
